4. Barehipani Waterfalls

Barehipani WaterfallsThe Barehipani is a picturesque waterfall situated in the core area of Simlipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district of Orissa.

This waterfall is second highest waterfalls of India with a height of 1,309 ft. The gorgeous fall is surrounded by deep forest which again adds the wildness to its beauty. This two-tiered waterfall is originating near the Bay of Bengal.
The Barehipani and Joranda falls are counted amongst the most popular attractions of tribal-state Orissa.

How To Reach Barehipani Water Fal

Since the waterfall is situated within the Similipal National Park, there are two entry points into the Park – one at Lulung which is 20kms from Baripada and the other at Jashipur which is 95 km’s from Baripada. Jeeps or 4WD (Four wheeled drive) vehicles are the best way to experience Similipal and are easily available for hire along with Guides in Baripada or at Jashipur.
Nearest Railhead to Similipal is at Baripada (17 km). Baripada has direct rail connections to all of India’s major metropolises: Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai and Mumbai.
Balasore is one important station closest to Baripada, which is 76 km from Baripada town. One can avail many modes of public transportation from Baripada town.

OSRTC or Orissa State Road Transportation Corporation plies many regular buses from Baripada to Lulung and Jashipur. There are also many buses between Baripada and Jashipur or Baripada and Pithabata. One can also make use of taxis and other local private vehicles in the town. It is best to haggle or bargain for a good decent price before engaging the services of taxi drivers in the town of Baripada.

Nearest highway: N.H. 5 and N.H. 6 meet near Baripada (17 km from Pithabata, an entry point to Similipal), Jashipur, another entry point is on N.H. 6.
